Antonis Frangakis has prepared for us all, yet another wonderful yoga workshop focusing on hips and the way they contribute to our happiness.
Healthy hips provide mobility, soften the lower back, assist in proper breathing and even said to release trapped emotions.
Hips and head are connected in a much deeper way than we can understand and in this two-hour journey we will learn all about this magical union. Through traditional asanas and by using all necessary yoga props (blocks, straps etc.) Antonis will show you how through the seemingly simple hip exercises you can “open” both body and spirit.
Designed specifically for all levels of students and teachers, this workshop is full of tips, quests and a feeling of rejuvenation and renewal.
Τι είναι η Iyengar Yoga?
Iyengar yoga is an in-depth study of asana (postures, body positions) and pranayama (control and breathing elongation).
Emphasis is placed on alignment, allowing the body to properly develop harmoniously within the sequence. An integral part of this method is the long periods of time held in each asana, in order for the benefits of the practice to sink in.
B.S.S. Iyengar systemized over 200 classical asana and 14 different types of pranayama, with variations in many cases, from the simplest to the extremely difficult.
Antonis began yoga in 1999 when he met Cyndi Lee, founder of the famous OM YOGA, which introduced him to asthanga vinyasa. He continued to practice with different teachers until he met with Voula Bolou and Iyengar yoga. Fascinated by precision, dynamics, and inwardness of Iyengar, he spent several months in India next to Chanchani and Usha Devi. He is a graduate of Kashmir Shaivism Yoga.
